Welcome back! I hope everyone had a relaxing, restful, FUN vacation! It is great to see everyone back at West! We've been busy this week at West! I presented the West Elementary School Improvement Plan to the PPS School Committee on Monday evening, April 26th. I also participated on the PPS "Diversity Committee" Zoom call on Wednesday evening, April 28th. Our Nature's Classroom is in full bloom this week, having the right mixture of sun and rain! Thank you again to Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Bancroft, and Mr. Trepanier for all of their help with making our Nature's Classroom beautiful! (And, special thanks to our generous PTA for funding this program at West!) Ms. Goldstein has been conducting instrument lessons this week in Nature's Classroom, too!
Looking ahead to next week (May 3rd - 7th) HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK TO ALL WEST STAFF MEMBERS! It goes without saying that this has been a particularly challenging year for all of our West teachers and staff members (as well as for our students and parents!) I want to personally thank each and every West staff member for all of their hard work during these difficult times! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Our Kindergarten, First and Second grade teachers have their Professional Learning Community Meetings throughout the week next week. We have a West Elementary Staff meeting on Tuesday, May 4th at 3:30. Also on Tuesday, the West School Council will be meeting at 6:00 and PTA at 7:00. Happy Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday, May 5th!
We thank all of the parents, families and businesses that have donated water to our school! Thank you for your kindness and generosity - we very much appreciate it! We are still accepting donations if you are interested!
I wish all West mothers "Happy Mother's Day" on Sunday, May 9th!
Take care and we hope to see you soon!
Mr. Williams
