Another busy week has come and gone at West Elementary! We all survived "Watergate" at West on Monday – thank you to Mr. Trepanier and Mr. Crawford for going above and beyond that day, keeping us all safe. Mrs. Marchesiani was at West on Monday and Wednesday for math professional development. Mrs. Lacroix-White was here this week for literacy coaching. I had a wonderful lunch with Mr. Young’s third grade class on Thursday, and Ms. Keegan is hosting a “Celebration of Learning” on Friday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 for her first grade families.

Another busy week has come and gone at West Elementary, with warm temperatures and sunny skies! Our teachers have been busy at their Professional Learning Community meetings this week. The West Data Team met on Tuesday morning. We have been interviewing candidates this week for new paraprofessional openings at West. Mr. Young hosted a third grade “Curriculum Night” on Tuesday evening, October 18th. Mrs. Lacroix-White has been at West for literacy coaching this week, as has Mrs. Marchesiani for math coaching. I enjoyed reading to Mrs. Hickey’s kindergarten students on Wednesday morning! We are looking forward to our concert performance on Friday morning in the cafeteria (sponsored by our Visual and Performing Arts Department), “Strings.” Several of our teachers attended the MASS CUE conference being held this week.
Looking ahead, I will begin working on the November "West Way" newsletter next week, and Ms. Keegan is hosting a "Celebration of Learning" for her first grade class on Friday, October 28th from 1:00 - 3:00. We hope to see you soon at West! October is flying by! We had no school in observation of Columbus Day on Monday, October 10th. On Wednesday we had a PTA sponsored assembly, the “Energized Guys.” Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring and bringing this assembly to West Elementary! We had early dismissal on Wednesday at 1:05 – our teachers attended professional development. Our PTA held a “Fifth Grade Farewell” planning meeting on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Mrs. Lacroix-White visited West this week, offering literacy coaching. The Fire Department will meet with our kindergarten students to discuss the importance of Fire Safety this week - thank you to our Plymouth Fire Department!
Looking ahead to next week, our Data Team will be meeting on Tuesday morning, October 18th at 8:00. Mrs. Rossetti, Ms. Perry, Mrs. Miller and I will be conducting interviews (for para professional openings we have at West), all day on Tuesday October 18th. Our teachers will be having their Professional Learning Community meetings next week, and we look forward to an enrichment assembly on Friday morning, October 21st, titled “Strings.” This assembly is being offered through our Visual and Performing Arts Department. Thank you for your continued support - we hope to see you soon at West! October has started off with a bang! We had Life Touch "Picture Day" on Monday at West. I heard from the photographers that the West students were the best behaved school that they have worked with this year! Wow – that is quite a compliment! Mrs. Marchesiani was here this week, providing math coaching. I enjoyed reading to Mrs. Nelson’s class and Mrs. Fitzgerald’s class this week. Our teachers have been meeting this week for their Professional Learning Communities. The West Data Team met on Tuesday morning. Second and third grade teachers had professional development with Mrs. Lacroix-White (for literacy) on Tuesday. I look forward to having lunch with Mrs. Routhier’s class on Thursday. On Thursday, October 6th, we have our monthly West staff meeting at 3:40, our West School Council meeting at 6:00, and our PTA meeting at 7:00. We have no school on Monday, October 10th in observation of Columbus Day.
Looking ahead, on Wednesday October 12th, we have a PTA sponsored assembly at 9:15, "The Energized Guys." Thank you PTA for bringing enrichment to West!
