Another week has come and gone at West! Nature’s classroom is shaping up at West – thank you to Mr. Trepanier for his hard work! We have a new learning shed, a new fifth grade seating area, a new bird feeder station, as well as new pathways connecting our flower beds. This is all very exciting! Thank you very much to our PTA for their continued support with this project! We welcomed two new para professionals at West this week, Mrs. Mento and Mrs. Ferrini. Welcome to West! Our teachers have been busy meeting this week at their Professional Learning Communities. Mrs. Lacroix-White worked with fourth and fifth grade teachers on Tuesday, offering literacy professional development. On Wednesday afternoon we had early release at 1:05 – West teachers worked on literacy data. I would like to thank Mrs. McBride, Mrs. Lacroix-White, Ms. Learning and Ms. Perry for all of their hard work with our literacy data, and thank you to the West staff! I enjoyed having lunch with Ms. Keeley’s fourth graders on Thursday afternoon. A reminder to West students and parents – it is not too late to donate new mittens, gloves, or hats to help local children in need. We are collecting sizes ranging from kindergarten to grade five through November 22nd. This service learning project is sponsored by Grade 2 students. Remember: warm hands = warm hearts!
