Happy Memorial Day to all West students, parents and staff members! Enjoy your long weekend!
Another busy week has come and gone at West! Our third, fourth and fifth graders have been working VERY HARD this week on their MCAS Math test - great job boys and girls, and thank you to their West teachers! I have been meeting with West teachers throughout the week to discuss their professional goals for the 2020-2021 school year. Our fifth graders traveled to PCIS to visit their new school this fall on Monday afternoon! We had Kindergarten Orientation last night at West Elementary to welcome the class of 2034 to West! Thank you to our Kindergarten teachers, and thank you to our new kindergarten parents who attended!
Looking ahead to next week (June 1st - 4th) our kindergarten, first grade and second grade teachers have their Professional Learning Community meetings throughout the week. We have a West Staff meeting at 3:35 on Tuesday afternoon, June 1st. The West School Council is meeting via zoom call on Tuesday evening at 6:00. The West PTA is meeting Tuesday evening via zoom call at 7:00. Our fifth graders have their final MCAS test (Science and Technology) on Wednesday, June 2nd. Way to go grade five! Kindergarten screenings are continuing throughout the week at West for the incoming Kindergarten class of 2034. Our third graders have Instrument Recruitment (through our Visual and Performing Arts Department) on Thursday, June 3rd at 9:15, and our fourth graders have Instrument Recruitment on Thursday, June 3rd at 10:00.
ATTENTION ALL WEST PARENTS: If you borrowed a chromebook last spring during extended school closure (March - June, 2020) YOU MUST RETURN YOUR BORROWED DEVICE before the last day of school on June 21st! You can send the device into school with your son or daughter, or you can drop it off at West during school hours.
We have no school on Monday, May 31st in observation of Memorial Day! Enjoy your long weekend!
