Below is a message from Mrs. Shannon, our library teacher at West, who wanted to mention our "Red Nose" campaign, currently in progress:
"In June, students and staff were invited to read for a cause this Summer by supporting Red Nose, an organization dedicated to eliminating childhood poverty worldwide. Participants could create personal reading goals and donate an amount per book or goal. Sponsors/friends/family were invited to support readers in reaching their goals. Volunteer West student Red Nose representatives have been working hard through the Summer to encourage reading enjoyment and goals to support Red Nose among their classmates. Our school goal is $500.00, and we are excited to find out if we have met it. Donations are due by September 14 and may be given online: https://rednoseday2018.funraise.org/fundraiser/linda-shannon, by check to the West PTA, or in cash for small donations. Checks and cash should be sent to the IMC. A reminder flyer will be sent home on September 5th. Thank you!"
Thank you to EVERYONE for making our opening week so smooth! Please remember to hydrate and drink lots of water during these very hot late summer temperatures. We hope to see you soon at West!
Mr. Williams
