Welcome back Westies! I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing break and vacation! It is hard to believe May is almost here!
We have had a great week back at West! Our teachers have had their Professional Learning Community meetings throughout the week. We had our PTA sponsored Scholastic Book Fair throughout the week (Wednesday, April 27th in the gym; tonight on Thursday evening, April 28th after school, and tomorrow on Friday, April 29th). Thank you PTA for promoting reading and literacy for our Westies, while also raising funds for our school! COVID communication was sent out to staff and families yesterday on Wednesday, April 27th. We celebrated "Administrative Assistant Day" yesterday on Wednesday, April 27th - thank you to Mrs. Crociati, Mrs. Westcott, and Mrs. Murphy for all that they do for us at West, every day!
Looking ahead to next week (May 2nd - May 6th) HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK TO ALL OF OUR WEST STAFF! Please join me in thanking our hard working West staff members who work tirelessly, every day, for our children! Thank you to our PTA for also organizing and funding many special events throughout the week for our West staff!
Our kindergarten, first and second grade teachers have their Professional Learning Community meetings throughout the week. Lastly, please remember that it is district policy for Plymouth Public Schools that ALL visitors must have a CORI on file at West prior to being admitted to the building. This includes all parents, volunteers and visitors, whether inside or outside of the building. A CORI is kept on file for three years - if you haven't updated yours, please reach out to Mrs. Crociati to have a CORI run. With upcoming open houses, field trips, field day, plays and talent shows on the horizon, it is important to have this on file at West in our data base. There is a form to complete with Mrs. Crociati (or Mrs. Westcott in the morning) and we will need a copy of your license. We welcome our parents to visit us, but this measure is for the safety and security of your child, with so many field trips and fun year-end events coming to West in May and June. Thank you so much!
Spring has sprung and the fifth grade is happy to announce that they will be selling Spring-O-Grams from April 25th - May 13th before Morning Announcements! What is a Spring-0-Gram? It is a blank spring coloring page that students will color and then deliver to a classmate, friend, teacher, staff member or a special person at home. Spring-O-Grams will be sold for $1.00 each; all money raised will be used to buy books for the West School Library. We thank you in advance for your support, and thank you to Mrs. Mento for organizing this program at West! Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Mento at [email protected].
Thank you everyone for your continued support! Have a wonderful May!
