As October comes to a close, I want to wish every West student, parent and staff member a very Happy Halloween!
We are looking forward to having students wear their Halloween costumes to West tomorrow on Thursday October 29th and Friday October 30th! We will be having short "Halloween Parades" at West throughout the day in the main corridors. Each cohort will be having a parade individually as a class; masks will be worn and social distancing will be followed.
An update from Nurse Marisa and our Health Office:
Please continue to monitor your child's health each morning before sending them to school. If they are experiencing any of these symptoms please do not send them to school.
The symptoms to monitor include:
- Fever (100.0 or higher), chills, or shaking chills
- Cough (not due to another known cause, such as Asthma)
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Headache (when in combination with other symptoms)
- Muscle aches or body aches
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Fatigue (when in combination with other symptoms)
- Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies)
Students’ health will continue to be monitored at school. If any student is found to exhibit any of the above symptoms, we will call families to request the student be picked-up, and that you follow up for further guidance from your pediatrician.
We appreciate all you will do to help keep our students and staff safe at school. Nurse Marisa can be reached at 508-830-4357 or emailed at [email protected].
Looking ahead to next week (November 2nd - 6th) we have a West School Council meeting Monday evening, November 2nd at 6:00 PM and a PTA meeting at 7:00 PM. We have no school on Tuesday, November 3rd (Election Day).
We have our rescheduled "The Tale of Desperaux Loop Parade" on Thursday evening, November 5th at 5:45.
Also, don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour this Sunday, November 1st - Daylight Savings Time is ending!
Happy Halloween!
