I can't believe that October is coming to an end and that November is upon us! Happy Halloween to everyone at West!
This week has been busy! I enjoyed reading to Mrs. Willis' kindergarten students this morning. Our second graders are traveling to the Planetarium on Wednesday, October 27th at 12:00. COVID communication will be sent out to staff and families on Wednesday, October 27th. We have a PBIS Virtual Assembly on Wednesday afternoon, October 27th at 2:15. Keep filling your Pawsome jars boys and girls! I am visiting Nathaniel Morton Elementary on Thursday morning, October 28th for a Learning Walk with PPS administrators and curriculum coordinators. We have our "One Book, One School" parade at West on Thursday evening, October 28th at 5:45! Come join us as we celebrate "The Wild Robot!"
Looking ahead to next week (November 1st - November 5th) Mr. Powers is kicking off his annual "Turkey Trot" at West! Thank you Mr. Powers. I am reading to Mrs. Shaw's class at 11:30 on Monday, November 1st. We have a staff meeting after school on Monday, November 1st at 3:35. We also have a West School Council Zoom call that night at 6:00 PM, followed by a PTA Zoom call at 7:00 PM. We have no school on Election Day (Tuesday, November 2nd). All PPS staff have professional development throughout the day! The PTA sponsored Scholastic Book Fair is being held at West on Wednesday, November 3rd - Friday, November 5th. Families are welcome to come to West on Thursday evening, November 4th to visit the Book Fair in the gym from 5:00 - 9:00! COVID communication will be sent out to staff and families on Wednesday, November 3rd. Our kindergarten, first and second grade teachers will be having their Professional Learning Community meetings next week, working on their Data Action Plans in Literacy and Math. Dr. Chris Campbell, Superintendent of Schools, is visiting West on Wednesday, November 3rd at 12:00. I am having lunch with Mrs. Willis' class on Thursday, November 4th!
